Week 12 of Tri-County Tribune’s Athlete of the Week choices

Caleb Strong

Only a sophomore, Pratt High School’s Caleb Strong made an impact on the Greenback boys’ basketball team in ways that extended into post-season play and a trip to the State Tournament in class 4A competition. Strong led an exciting victory over Hugoton 47-40 last week in the 4A Sub State championship with 15 points and 5 rebounds. In a team loaded with talent, Strong is a key component in Greenback success and worthy of week 12 Tri-County Tribune’s male Athlete of the Week award.

Renee Hamm

Renee Hamm, a senior on the Pratt High School girls’ basketball team, is the week 12 pick for female Athlete of the Week by the Tri-County Tribune. Though not a leader in scoring, steals, or even rebounding, Hamm is an example of true dedication to team and school as she fought back from injuries to be a team contributor this season. Sometimes it is the behind-the-scenes work and team leadership by example that matters the most, and Hamm has been an excellent example of this kind of athlete. Congratulations to the Greenback girls for a fine season despite an end in sub-state last week.
