The Skyline High School theater department has been hard at work producing the play, “Beauty and the Beast Bed and Breakfast” by Paul Meloon. This show tells the story of what Beauty and the Beast did in their “ever after.” They did what every couple with a giant castle and a pesky curse to break would do — open a bed and breakfast! Stricken with a hairy curse that’s only cured with hospitality, Henri, formerly known as the Beast, agrees to help his wife Belinda run a bed and breakfast out of their castle. They host a variety of well-known guests, including Goldie Locks, Jack B. Stalk, Peter Shepard, and Miss Bonnie Redcap.
Under the direction of Emilie Kenworthy and Beth Walters, the cast and crew of 22 students have been working hard for months, juggling school work, jobs, illnesses, and sports. The cast was selected and rehearsals started in August with at least two per week.
“This is a very fun and funny play for all ages but will especially appeal to younger audiences with many familiar characters from fairy tale stories,” said Kenworthy.
Performances are Thursday and Friday, November 14 and 15, both at 7 p.m.
Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for children, or the money-saving option of $15 per family.
