Pratt Regional Medical Center is proud to provide patients with state-of-the-art technology and high-quality healthcare. “The recent addition of liver elastography ultrasound technology is improving our ability to diagnose and monitor liver diseases more accurately and easily,” PRMC Imaging Services Manager, Tricia Meyers said.

Liver disease affects millions of people worldwide and can lead to liver scarring, or fibrosis. The amount of scarring helps doctors understand how serious the disease is and guides treatment decisions. In the past, checking liver scarring required a biopsy – an invasive procedure where a small piece of liver tissue is removed for testing.

“Our new liver elastography ultrasound offers a non-invasive way to assess various liver conditions, including fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, and other related issues,” PRMC Internal Medicine gastroenterology provider Paul Halderson, PA-C said. “This technology allows us to detect problems earlier, potentially slowing down the disease and/or preventing complications.”

By using liver elastography ultrasound, providers can better diagnose and manage liver diseases, leading to improved care and better outcomes for our patients.

This new technology shows PRMC’s dedication to providing excellent and compassionate healthcare using the most up-to-date medical equipment available.
