Members of the Pratt Lions Club are selling tickets for the club’s annual Christmas Raffle, which is their main fundraiser for the year. Grand prize is a side of beef, cut to winner’s specifications.

“All of the money raised with the raffle goes towards our vision care mission to help people in our local community pay for needed eyeglasses or appointments,” said Lions Club President Andy Lee. “We work with the Hope Center, which is where people may apply for our help with this funding, and work with up to 30 applicants each year.”

More than 60 prizes, donated by the generous Pratt business community, have been collected for the Pratt Lions Club annual raffle fundraiser, as well arrangements made for the grand prize – a side of beef. The Pratt Lions Club raffle has always been a good sell, as almost everyone who buys tickets wins something.

“We so appreciate the wonderful support we get for this fundraiser,” Lee said. “People in and around Pratt are so generous, and we’ve got some great prizes this year!”

The grand prize side of beef, donated by Pratt Feeders with processing donated by T&W Meats, will be the first draw. Once a grand prize ticket has been drawn from the ticket hopper, that ticket is placed aside and then 60 additional tickets are drawn with prizes awarded in order as per the donation sheet.

“Several of our usual donors of prizes have upped their gift card amounts or value of prizes this year. It is just amazing,” Lee said. “We even had one business donate $50 in prize tickets this year that will be distributed through the Hope Center.”

This year’s drawing will take place at noon on Wednesday, December 11 at the Front Porch in Pratt. The drawing is earlier this year than in the past so time to buy tickets will be short.

Pratt Lions Club Raffle tickets have been sold a community events and may also be purchased at Cathy’s Closet on S. Main Street in Pratt. They may also be purchased from club members Andy Lee, Harold Stultz, Cris Seidel, Regina Goff, Denis Rasmussen, Margie Thomason. Additional club members also have tickets for sale but preferred not to be listed. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. There will be a Pratt Lions Club table (with free popcorn) where raffle tickets may be purchased at the November 23 Christmas Lights in the Park (Lemon Park in Pratt). For more information call Andy Lee at 218-770-5378.

Except for special occasions, the Pratt Lions Club meets weekly at the Pratt Regional Medical Center in the Shrack Room, eating at the PRMC cafeteria and carrying out business and discussion, ending at 1 p.m., approximately. New members are always welcome to join this community service organization.
