Pratt Community College’s Student Life is proud to announce that renowned literary scholar and historian Dr. John Edgar Tidwell will be visiting campus for a special lecture. The event will be held at Dennis Lesh Sports Arena at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Pratt Community College, and is free and open to the public.
Dr. Tidwell, a celebrated professor emeritus of English at the University of Kansas, is widely recognized for his extensive research and publications on African American literature and cultural history, particularly his work on Langston Hughes and other key figures of the Harlem Renaissance. His scholarship has contributed significantly to the understanding of African American literary heritage and continues to inspire students, educators, and readers worldwide.
“We are honored to welcome Dr. Tidwell to Pratt CC,” said Dr. Calvert President of PCC. “His work has had a profound impact on the study of African American literature, and we are excited for our students and community members to engage with his insights.”
