The Family Crisis Center kicked off Sexual Assault Awareness Month (S.A.A.M.) with the National Day of Action (Go Teal Day) on April 1 by presenting teal keys of solidarity at Hearing Life, The People’s Bank, and Legacy Bank.

Additional teal pins were presented throughout the day with the focus on talking about a problem that can be dealt with to help victims and their families grow up and past the violence when their voices are heard.

According to information from the Family Crisis Center, sexual assault is the most under-reported crime (63% of sexual assaults are not reported to police) therefore we may never know how many more cases occurred and went unreported to law enforcement. Sexual violence impacts everyone, but together, change can be effected. Everyone has a role to play in preventing sexual abuse, assault, and harassment.

Since early January 2025, the Family Crisis Center, Inc. has offered Support Group for Survivors. The meetings take placed on Monday nights from 5:30-7 p.m. at 400 S. Main St Suite 101, Pratt.

The Family Crisis Center, Inc. is looking for some help for a community event to address support needed for sexual abuse survivors. Needed are area businesses that would like to have a booth and prepare a child friendly activity for the kids. Also needed are prizes to raffle off such as bikes for a girl and boy, baskets of things like game night activities, outside play activities, etc.

To help or for more information please call Mandy Wingfield or Chasity Wright @ 620-672-7435 at the Pratt Family Crisis Center.
