Macksville High School girls should be strong in the throws this spring following the leadership of senior Morgan Sebes. Track and field competitions should be set in tone for top performances this year with personal bests from Sebes coming in at just over 100’ in the discus, 117’ in the javelin and 33’ in the shot put. Coach Jennifer Gillespie said that newcomers Diana Ibarra, Ava and Grace Chadd should excel in the sprints and jumps, while state cross country qualifier Kennedy Butler (fresh) will anchor the distance squad.

Gillespie said Macksville will field a boys track team this year let by The seniors Kendall Grippen (jumps), Hector Gomez (sprints), and Devin Murrow (throws) who are all dual sporting.

Additional Mustang athletes to watch this spring include

Angelo Castaneda, Devin Murrow, Alexandra Lopez, Abby Foster, Alycia Fulls, Raymond Saaveda, Darey Holguin, Kinzie Grizzell, Ashtyn Foster, Joseph Marquez, Jesus Llanas, Aiden Gandara, and several up and coming freshmen.
