Cardiac rehabilitation is a service that helps people improve their cardiovascular health after a heart event or procedure. It includes exercise, education, and counseling. This week, February 9-15, Pratt Regional Medical Center celebrates Cardiac Rehabilitation Week and invites the public to stop in from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to visit with staff and learn more about heart issues.
No one needs to face heart disease alone. Cardiac rehabilitation at Pratt Regional Medical Center is a team effort. It’s a medically supervised program in which patients partner with doctors, nurses, and pharmacists — plus family and friends — to take charge of the choices, lifestyle, and habits that affect heart health.
People of all ages and fitness levels who have experienced a heart attack, heart failure, angioplasty, or heart surgery may benefit from cardiac rehab. PRMCs Cardiac Rehab program could help those with these issues feel better physically and psychologically.
