The St. John-Hudson Lady Tigers won their second round of sub-state basketball last week, 55-22 over South Central.

A mix of leading scorers continue to plague opponents with Reagan Bonner leading the way this time with 11. Mia Meyer and Lydia Reed each scored 10 for the Lady Tigers, while Jalyn Fisher socked in 9 and Karly Rockenbach added 7 points.

“We played really hard and shot the ball well,” said head coach Danny Smith. “We were 4-10 from 3 pt.-range. We made it difficult for them to score or to get quality shots.”

The Lady Tigers also controlled the boards with nine rebounds from Fisher and four grabbed by Meyer. Lily Brummer notched three steals and Reed executed 6 blocks in the well-played game.

The St. John Lady Tigers take on Spearville this Friday night in Greensburg at 7:30 p.m. in the sub-state championship. This will be a re-match of last year’s sub-state championship game.
