It may be that high school football season was over months ago, but St. John-Hudson 1A high school football coach Scott Krehbiel is still processing what turned out to be a very successful Tiger football season for the 2024-25 team.

“We finished 4-5 this year with a first round playoff loss,” Krehbiel said recently. “I was very proud of how much growth we showed on the football field throughout this year. The high point for us was coming back at Macksville, down 28-0, to win 30-28 to finish the regular season 4-4.”

There were also awards won by the 2024-25 Tiger football team. Easton Alpers (fr) was named 2nd Team All-League Kicker, Wyatt Mawhirter (fr) was 2nd Team All-League LB, Juan Ibarra (jr) earned Honorable Mention All-League DB, Aden Adame (sr) was Honorable Mention OL and 2nd Team All-League DL, Daniel Portillo (jr) was Honorable Mention All-League RN and OL as well as 1st Team All League DL and Honorable Mention All-State DL, Jace Reyes (jr) was named 2nd Team All-League WR and Honorable Mention All-League Kick Returner, Braxton Alpers (jr) was 2nd Team All-League QB, Unanimous 1st Team All-League DB, Honorable Mention All-League Punt Returner, and Honorable Mention All-State DB.

Krehbiel wanted to make sure the public was aware of the awards his hard-working Tiger players earned this past year, and for fans, supporters, and players to be aware that the door has been opened for an even more successful season next year, based on the hard work done this past season.

“We return a lot of key players next year, and look to add some good young talent with the incoming freshmen,” Krehbiel said. “We should have some good depth, and I expect us to have a good season this fall.”
