Stan Kenton Brass Christmas will be performing on December 8 at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Pratt as the latest free public event from the Glenn McCaslin Guest Concert Series. Guests are warmly invited to an evening of brass instruments playing Christmas music that will spark nostalgia and bid listeners to embrace the season.
Comprised of local musicians, the Stan Kenton Brass Christmas started in the mid-1970s when the Kenton Family played carols for the West Heights United Methodist Church in Wichita. Additional brass instrument performers were needed and were from the symphonies in the area. The concert also provides the history of the carols for an evening of listening and learning enjoyment.
