Ida Long Goodman First Community Conversation in St. John
September 6 – Ida Long Goodman Memorial Library receives combined grant for small and rural libraries. As part of the grant, Library Staff will host a conversation with residents about accessibility and use of grant funds to work on creating systems and places so everyone can utilize the resources in the library. The first Community Conversations will take place at Ida Long Goodman at the Lunch & Learn on Friday, September 6, 12-1 p.m. Call to sign up for a free lunch.
Care Day includes pancake feed
Sept. 7 – Faith Partnership of Pratt (Formerly Ministerial Alliance) hosts a pancake, sausage breakfast 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 7 at the Senior Center address of 619 N. Main, Pratt. Bring hygiene products, school supplies, tissues, wet wipes, underwear, or money donations for school support collections. Two $50 gift cards will be awarded at noon.
Pratt County fall garden tour
Sept. 7 – Pratt Master Gardeners host annual garden tour from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 7. Flyers with participants and addresses available at Pratt County Extension Office. Garden Tour hosts include Carol Gordon, Kenny March, Kris Quint, Aquina Stonestreet, and Teri Briggeman.
Fall Vendor Event at The Little Blue Boutique
Sept. 7 – The Little Blue Boutique at 1115 West Hwy. 54 hosts a Fall Vendor Event for all crafters, creators, vintage, antique and junk sellers. Direct sales companies, bakers, gardeners, food trucks, ice cream makers and more are welcome to participate. Bring $25 to set up from 9 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Pratt.
Business grant workshop
Sept. 18 – Stafford County EcoDevo’s Ryan Russell will go over the Heartland Regional Food Business Center’s business builder grant at 21 Central Extension office at the Stafford County Annex. Supply chian businesses can apply to receive $5,000 – $50,000. Come Sept. 18 at noon to hear about the grant.
7th Annual Pratt Oktoberfest
Sept. 21 – Pratt Oktoberfest is in September on Saturday the 21st, from 5-10 p.m. at Lemon Park.
Join us for the best party in town. We’ll have yard games, a live polka band, stein holding contest, food trucks and cold beverages. This event is for people age 21 & over only; all the proceeds go to local philanthropic causes.
Pratt commodities to be distributed
Sept. 25 – Commodities (Dept. of Child and Family Services) Pratt County residents may come to the Pratt Community Center, 619 N. Main to pick up commodities from 2-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25 (4th Wed. every other month). Government income guidelines apply.
Save the date for Stafford Oktoberfest
Oct. 4, 5 – Stafford County celebrates 35th Annual Oktoberfest with a parade, beer garden, magic show, street dance, carnival games, inflatables and arcade trailer, traditional games, cornhole, duck race, music, dancing, bingo and more. www.oktoberfeststaffordks.com.
SCCF Gala to take place October 5
Oct. 5 – The South Central Community Foundation will celebrate their 30th Anniversary Gala with a Kentucky Derby theme and special fundraising baskets. SCCF plans to have 7 baskets (one from each county served, with an additional 3 baskets made up from any county/vendor.
