All are welcome to join the fun at the 17th annual Mennonite Central Committee Comforter Blitz on March 3, 4 and 5 at Journey Facility at the Yoder Campus (activity building behind Charis Community Church), one mile north of Yoder, Kansas. Blitz times are Monday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Note we have extended hours again on Tuesday this year.

At the Blitz, comforters will be tied and finished for Mennonite Central Committee to send overseas to provide warmth and comfort to people as well as a tangible reminder of hope and care to those displaced by war or those recovering from natural disasters.Last year, MCC shipped approx. 53,600 comforters to Jordan, Ukraine, El Salvador, Malawi, Canada, US (including Puerto Rico) and Zambia and have many requests for comforters again this year.

Come and have a good time while helping others. Since there are many tasks besides sewing, there is a job for everyone. Lunch is available by donation each day, or you may bring your own sack lunch. Snacks are welcome to share during the work day.

Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) was formed when representatives of various Mennonite and Mennonite Brethren groups met in July 1920 in Elkhart, Indiana, and pledged to aid hungry people. MCC also provides material aid to poverty stricken areas.

The Comforter Blitz is hosted by Kansas Friends of MCC, an organization that supports the work of MCC. For more information, check the MCC Comforter Blitz page, https://mcc.org/ events/mcc-comforter-blitz.
