Ceramics by Carol Long to be featured at St. John Lunch and Learn

Carol Long, nationally and internationally known artist who specializes in ceramics created at her Stafford County home, will speak Friday, April 4 for a Lunch and Learn session at the Ida Long Goodman Memorial Library in St. John.

Lunch is provided for the program which begins at noon in the basement meeting room of the library. Please call 620-549-3227 to reserve a place and meal.

Long will speak about how to take a passion and make it into a business. She will share her experiences and advice others on how they can take their passions and monetize them. She will also talk about the future of The Art Center at Historic Gray Photography Studio where she is the board president.

Long’s art, influenced by life and animals, continues to evolve based on her experiences, she said. Her work has been featured at Charlie Cummings gallery in Gainsville, Florida, Plinth Gallery in Denver, Karg Art Glass in Kechi, Kansas and The Vernon Filley Art Museum in Pratt, Kansas. In recent years she has been a presenter at workshops throughout the United States.

She has an active Facebook page, Instagram, and a website. All under the name of Carol Long Pottery.

*Lunch and Learns are a partnership between Ida Long Goodman Memorial Library and Stafford County Economic Development. Lunch is provided along with an interesting speaker every first Friday throughout the school year in St. John.
