Small town collaboration helps families keep track of kids during work hours
Haviland is a small town that is filled with lively families including their children who need a place to go when parents head to work or when they are too young to be left at home alone. Luckily, Haviland Grade School, Haviland Recreation and the Daycare Center are in collaboration to fill the needs of these working parents and their children. Currently there are only a few families who attend the after school program run by Jana Hawkins, but the hope is that the program will grow as word travels around town.
Salina Symphony announces youth education program auditions
The Salina Symphony Youth Education program will hold auditions for the 2022 fall semester at the Salina Symphony Rehearsal Hall, located at 132 S. 5th Street.

Kansas Insurance Department recovers $4.12 million for Kansans
Topeka, Kan. – Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt, today, announced the Kansas Insurance Department recovered $4.12 million in insurance funds for Kansans in the first eight months of 2022.
I am blessed to work with such a great group of people that are committed to the success of every student
and hold activities as we did in the second half of last school year. Part of the process of looking forward is the development of a strategic plan for the school district.
