Sports gambling is set to become legal in Kansas on Sept. 1, just in time for the NFL and college football seasons. Last year, the American Gaming Association estimated that 31.4 million Americans bet over $7B on the Super Bowl and that over 45 million people in the U.S. bet over $3B on March Madness. While we know what this means for the state (Kansas Lottery is saying this will generate $10 million in revenue by 2025), what should Kansans be looking for as they get swamped with sportsbook advertising over the coming weeks?

Small but mighty in numbers, Kiowa County High School tennis players have plans

Sports betting platforms approved for operations beginning September 1

TOPEKA, KAN. – After Governor Laura Kelly’s announcement last week that sports wagering in Kansas will begin with a soft launch starting at noon on Thursday, September 1st, followed by a full opening on September 8th, the Kansas Lottery is pleased to announce which sports wagering platforms will be available to the public on launch day.

Lady ‘Stangs ready to avenge sub-state loss from last year with confident core of returners

Macksville High School volleyball head coach Jennifer Gillespie and assistant Taylor Casper can’t wait to capitalize on the experience they have coming back to the court this year for the Mustangs. “Last year’s season ended with a first round sub-state victory over Minneola and a second round loss to Kiowa County in the Hodgeman County Sub-State won by eventual state champion, Spearville,” Gillespie said.

Pratt volleyball uses summer for improvement, looks to have successful season

Throughout the sum- mer of 2022, the Pratt High School volleyball team has been steadily practicing and improving their game to hopefully lead a solid season this fall. This summer, the girls have been hard at work in both the weight room and on the court. They have had summer camps, which have allowed them to maintain and improve their skills and team bonding.
