The Big 12 Conference Champions, who were picked to finish 5th, and the 9th ranked and 10-3 Kansas State Wildcats travel to New Orleans. Louisiana where they will face the 5th ranked and 10-2 Alabama Crimson Tide in the Allstate Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Eve and kickoff in the Caesars Superdome will be at 11 a.m.

Macksville Boys, Hoisington Girls win Keady Titles

MACKSVILLE 64, SPEARVILLE 36 – Macksville’s Most Valuable Player Ryan Kuckelman scored 14 points and dominated inside as the Mustangs defended their Keady Classic Basketball title with a 64-36 rout over Spearville. Diego Esparza scored 14 points and All-Tournament Rogelio Ibarra scored nine points. All-tournament Alexis Barron scored eight points in the back-to-back Keady Classic Championship title for the Mustangs.

Fort Hays State adds women’s wrestling as a competitive sport, scholarships available

HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State University president Tisa Mason has announced the addition of Women’s Wrestling as a varsity sport in Athletics, set to begin competition in 2024-25. With the addition of the program, Fort Hays State will have 17 intercollegiate athletic programs (nine women’s, eight men’s).

Lady Greenbacks take on top teams in Cheney Tournament; Gatlin and Theis earn honors

The Pratt High School Girls’ Basketball team recently competed in the annual Cheney tournament, which featured six teams from around Kansas. Lady Greenbacks Gabby Gatlin (sr) and Jaycie Theis (jr) earned all-tournament team honors as the girls battled hard in all their games gaining one win over El Dorado, but two losses against Cheney and Wellington.
