Coach Jennifer Gillespie and the Macksville Lady Mustangs had a successful day at the Pawnee Heights Tournament last weekend, winning the championship title for the 4th consecutive year.“We are currently 2-4 in the Central Prairie League with Chase and Ellinwood remaining on our schedule this coming Tuesday. Saturday will be our league tournament,” Gillespie said. The Macksville volleyball team is currently 13-14 (varsity) and 6-7 on JV. Several team leaders have stepped up as the season progresses, making for a positive outlook for post season play.“We are currently lead in assists by senior Isabela Ortiz. Her sister, freshman Heidy Ortiz leads the team in blocks and attack percentage,” Gillespie said. ”Senior outside hitter, Diana Ibarra leads the team in total kills. Junior Kinze Grizzell is leading the team in serve receive, serve percentage and digs. Senior Morgan Sebes has the most aces for the team.
