State archery tournaments showcase student skills, award scholarships

PRATT – Nearly 400 student archers from across Kansas competed for top honors at the Kansas National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) State Tournaments, held March 28–29 at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson. Students participated in bullseye and 3D archery events, vying for individual and team awards—and the chance to qualify for NASP Nationals.

Where are they now: Hook continues baseball passion as K-State manager

Kansas State University (KSU) junior and Pratt High School graduate Matthew Hook is proudly representing his Pratt baseball roots as a student equipment manager for the KSU baseball team, a team currently ranked 22nd in the nation. Hook played third base for Pratt High’s varsity baseball team and has great memories of his time there while playing for Head Coach Ron Hill.

Deucy and Stapleton crowned 3A State Powerlifting Champions

With a team composed of lifters of varying ages, the Pratt High School powerlifting squad has had a very successful year on both ends. The team, which has a squad of dedicated competitors, competed at the 3A State Powerlifting Meet on Saturday, March 29. There, all students lifted very well in three separate categories, and a couple of Greenbacks were crowned state champions.
