PCC Beavers win first KJCCC road game before break

THE PRATT COMMUNITY COL- LEGE (PCC) men’s basketball team had one thing standing in their way from winter break. That was a trip to Independence Community College (ICC) to battle the Pirates. Indy was coming off of a 20 point victory over Coffeyville at home, yet they succummed to Pratt, 79-77. The Beavers entered the game on a two game win streak, but had yet to win a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) game on the road. The stage was set for a battle in the ICC Fieldhouse in front of a small, but mighty crowd.

Macksville boys start 4-0, host Stafford on Friday

MACKSVILLE BOYS' BASKETBALL coach Jeff Kuckelman wants his junior-dominated team to gain confidence throughout the season. The Mustangs have earned a healthy, humble swagger by starting 4-0, including impressive season-opening victories against Ness City (63-45), Spearville (76-43), Kinsley (74-33) and previously-undefeated Class 3A powerhouse Hoisington (56-42) Saturday.
