At its June 16 regular meeting, Pratt City commissioners voted to support the construction The Point Pavilion. This involves the city pledging two million dollars towards the project. The Point was later described in an announcement by the city as follows.
It was standing room only and park-at-your-own risk for Mead Lumber’s remodel grand opening last Thursday in Pratt. Community residents turned out for free food, new tool drawings, lots of swag gifts, and a chance to look inside at a remodel of a business building a reputation for great customer service.
The 2025 wheat harvest seemed to get off to a hit-and-miss kind of start in central Kansas this past week, but by the weekend many combines were making dust and gleaning grain in the Tri-County Tribune coverage area.
The Pratt Police Department consists of a chief of police, 12 officers and 7 other staff members. It is the duty of the chief of police and all sworn law enforcement personnel to preserve good order, peace and quiet throughout the city as provided by law. They have the power to make arrest under proper process on view of any offense against the laws of the state of Kansas or the laws of the city.
Year-round sports opportunities, tourism attractions, and offices for Pratt Rec and Visit Pratt leaders will all be part of a new sports complex coming to Pratt at Green Sports Complex. On Monday, June 16, 2025, the City of Pratt Commission heard a proposed path forward for The Point Project from the City Manager Regina Goff and donor representative Zach Deeds.
Cloudy skies and wet weather might have discouraged some from showing up Saturday for the second annual Old School Vintage Art Market in Iuka but it didn’t keep vendors from setting up their booths and showcasing their wares. By the end of the day, the skies had cleared and sales rocketed for all those who stuck it out through the wind gusts and early downpours.
A community block party, organized by members of the Abundant Harvest Church of the Nazarene brought life to Merchant Park on Friday, June 13 in Pratt. Children played games, chased bubbles and danced to live music while adults enjoyed visiting and watching the activity.
With the summer in full swing, baseball for traveling teams all across the state is open at Green Sports Complex in Pratt. Recently, on Saturday, June 7, Pratt’s annual “Life’s Short, Play Hard” tournament.
