After a membership vote from the Farmer’s Cooperative Elevator Company headquartered in Garden Plain, failed to pass a proposed merger between FCEC and Kanza Cooperative, investigation into the matter by leadership from both entities led to the conclusion that misinformation was the culprit of the failed majority.“In conversations with members, the boards learned that many objections to the merger stemmed from some misunderstandings,” said FCEC Board President Dixie Brewster and Kanza Cooperative Board President Alvin Neville in a posted letter to area agriculture communities and cooperative members.
