TOPEKA — The 0.5 percentage point climb in the Kansas unemployment rate during the past year fell in the middle range of increases reported across the board in a five-state region that included Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Colorado, state labor agencies said.During the past 12 months, Oklahoma experienced the smallest expansion of joblessness and Colorado the largest growth in unemployment among the five states.

Though livestock numbers were down overall at the 2024 Kiowa County Fair this year, there were still plenty of 4-H and open class entrants who came out for a good time and to show the public their projects July 15-17 at the Kiowa County Fairgrounds in Greensburg.“Now that fair week is over, we just want to thank everyone who helped and participated in all of the 4-H activities,” said Jewell Glover, 4-H Youth Development Agent for Kiowa County, K-State Research and Extension.
