While many people travel to the beach, the mountains, or visit friends and relatives in other places, Pratt High School student Hanna Gordon devoted a good chunk of her July 2024 vacation to serving the disabled population in Ecuador.Interestingly, when she signed up for a service trip through HXP, which is short for Humanitarian Experience Program, Gordon had no idea where she would be going.“They call it a trip lottery because you don’t know which one you’ll get,” said Gordon.Before leaving, she had to acquire a visa and passport, not to mention packing her bags.
