Frog Dome games rock the house

An old gym on the campus of USD 382 Pratt has been restored and sports fans plus community members gathered for a grand opening of sorts at the Frog Dome on Friday, February 14 in Pratt. Pratt High School boys and girls basketball teams played, the pep band filled the space, and spectators young and old enjoyed the experience.

Stafford County young entrepreneurs compete

The 2025 Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge is in the books. Stafford County Economic Development hosted the event today at the Stafford County Annex. Six different business concepts were submitted. Nine Students from Tabra Ward’s class at St. John - Hudson Tigers USD 350 participated. Students competed for a chance to win cash prizes with the winner getting to go to the Kansas Entrepreneur Challenge in Manhattan April 16th and 17th.

Steak meals make Valentine’s Day special in Greensburg

Andy Kooken at Kook’s Meats in Greensburg is kind of a quiet guy, working hard behind the scenes to serve his local compatriots in Greensburg and Kiowa County, Kansas. On Valentine’s Day 2025, Kooken and two helpers cooked and served 139 steak meals to customers, many of them going as secret valentine dinners to law enforcement, medical and emergency management workers and their spouses.
