Municipal building roof damaged in windstorm

A recent windstorm tore off a large portion of the roof of the Pratt Municipal Building. The Municipal building has eight roof sections, all of which are aging. More than eighty percent of one of these sections was blown off of the building in the windstorm. “We were lucky this… didn’t fly down like frisbies onto Jackson Street onto cars.” said Brad Blankenship, the City Building Inspector.

Plants and flowers are green and growing at Headricks Plants and Pines in Mullinville

Rick and Hannah Headrick have been hard at work for several months planting and growing seeds and plugs in preparation for their busy season at Headricks Plants and Pines. Even though it is still early, they are now welcoming customers to their greenhouse at 315 N. Cherry in Mullinville to get in the spirit of spring.

Mr. May made a difference

When Pratt USD 382 students, staff, families and the Pratt community at large found out last week that their much-loved principal at Southwest Elementary has passed away unexpectedly, it created a shock-wave through the community. What followed was a tsunami of love and memories of how Mr. May, as most people knew him, touched others and made a positive difference in the lives of those around him.
