As if it wasn’t enough to lose just about everything they owned in a Father’s Day fire last month, Pratt residents Reggie and Cherylan Mendenhall, their son, Dakota, and grandson Malachi, lost other personal items that had been in storage in another house fire last Tuesday at the corner of Cleveland and N. Pearl in Pratt.

This is exciting truth until doubt and fear sneak in the back door and Satan repeats the same strategy to deceive as he did with Adam and Eve in the garden. His favorite temptation is to plant seeds of uncertainty and confusion in our minds to question whether faith is real or our imagination. In our times of trouble, we are bombarded with speculations and opinions, but we must become unmovable in knowing that the report of the Lord cannot fail.
ROME (AP) — Pope Francis urged the Catholic faithful Wednesday to stop exploiting the old Latin Mass for ideological reasons and to start discovering the beauty of the new liturgy that grew from the reforms of the Second Vatican Council.
The skies were beautifully illuminated with red white and blue fireworks on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of July. The Monday holiday extended the celebration in this little town. There were three firework stands open on July 1. The St.John cheerleading squad raised money for their cheer program. The St.John Fireworks Tent, run by Wald and Company wholesale fireworks, has been family-owned and operated for 30 years. The downtown firework store was run by Scott Claussen and Ami Claussen; they came back from Florida to sell fireworks in their annual shop.
I’ve been doing laundry for my kids for 37 years this July! Now granted, I don’t do as much as I used to for them but on occasions. Since my two adult children moved back home during COVID, when they get super busy I offer to do their laundry for them when I am at home and have the time.
