Arrests made in Stafford County

On October 7, 2022 at approximately 22:00 hours, the Stafford Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Dodge Durango SRT in the 700 block of E U.S. Highway 50. Throughout the investigation of the stop the officer asked for the deployment of a K-9. A K-9 unit from the Hutchinson Police Department responded. The K-9 deployed and alerted to the odor of narcotics from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle located multiple forms illegal registration, marijuana and a large sum of U.S. currency. The vehicle was also found to be stolen out of Chicago, Illinois.

School closures saved lives

educationfrontlines@yahoo.com Across the U.S., politicians are running campaigns asserting that statewide school closures in 2020 were not only unnecessary but totally useless in stemming the spread of COVID-19. Medical research based on actual records of hospitalizations and deaths in the early months of the pandemic clearly shows that substantially more deaths would have occurred if the schools would have been kept open.

Pratt High School coaches, grad, receive state and national recognition

Pratt High School wrestling club coaches and student- athletes continue to garnish honors and recognition from state organizations for achievements brought by hard work and integrity in past seasons. Last April, the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association handed out annual awards that included high honors to Livia Swift - Senior Wrestler of the Year 4A-1A Girls; Tate Thompson - Head Coach of the Year 4A-1A Girls; and Ron Prater Assistant Coach of the Year 4A-1A Girls.

Diaz is living the dream as a KU trumpet player

Pratt-Skyline May 2022 graduate Angel Diaz is living the dream this fall as a member of the University of Kansas Marching Band. Though it’s National Hispanic Heritage Month and family is very important to him, Diaz is focused on the here and now as he learns new marching drills each week and spends just about every waking minute with his Jayhawk band members at a time when excitement on that campus is high with recent football success.
