Smartphones with satellite connectivity could eventually prove vital for rural communities, delivering voice, data and broadband to Americans living in underserved markets. Advancements in battery density, chipset processing power and antenna technology have now made it possible for smartphones to connect with satellites for some basic services.

The Stafford County Landfill is located at 236 Northeast 10th Avenue. It is open from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It accepts construction demolition from Stafford County, waste, metal and tires. The purpose of the landfill is to protect the environment by providing a controlled site to dispose of demolition waste, to encourage wisdom in the use of materials and chemicals in the home and business, and to promote cooperation in education and resource management. St. John High School’s Quade Smith qualified for state cross country competition by placing 7th at the Ness City last week at Regionals.
During a whirlwind tour of more than 95 counties, and counting, Katie Sawyer, candidate for Lt. Governor in partnership with Attorney General Derek Schmidt for Governor, stopped in Stafford County. On Wednesday, October 26, after spending time with Carolyn Dunn and Stafford County Economic Development, Sawyer made a special stop at St. John High School to visit with the students who are making Tiger Bank a reality.
The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met in regular session on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in the Commission Room in the Annex. Vice Chairman Garner called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present: Bryce Garner, and Clayton Grimmett.
The St. John Homecoming Hall and Museum sponsored a Homecoming Festival in the Town Square in St. John on October 22 to honor and celebrate the culture and history of Stafford County. The museum’s intent to preserve the artifacts and stories of all families who have lived in this county came to fruition as many local people as well as visitors from afar came to the Saturday celebration.
South Central Community Foundation has selected he 5.4.7 Arts Center in Greensburg to receive two 2022-2023 grants. The Arts Center received a Community Grant to facilitate establishment of an Artists in Residence program, and a Greensburg Future Fund Grant for the creation of an outdoor mural on the concrete plinth surrounding the Arts Center.
