With Christmas coming around the corner, I bet you are trying to come up with some gift ideas for your family members or someone you are close to. I’ve been looking around town in Pratt trying to find the best gift I can possibly get for my mother. My mother always used to tell me that you can never go wrong with diamonds because they are timeless and never will go out of style. Keeping what she said in mind, I decided that I’d like to get her a diamond necklace. I mean “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend!” as the saying goes.

AG Derek Schmidt visits Pratt

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt stopped in Pratt for coffee and conversation Friday, October 29 at Don’s Servateria on First Street. Introduced to a receptive crowd by former Pratt County Sheriff Vernon Chinn, Schmidt said these meet-and-greet occasions were important as they reminded him what was important to the people he serves and hopes to serve as future Governor of Kansas.

Houses for sale in Pratt are nothing new; there was a time just a few years ago when more than 150 homes were available at one time. In 2022, the housing market in Pratt tightened, and as inflation soared, affordability became an issue. But not to fear, several lower level houses are coming up for auction this week and next in Pratt, some part of a sheriff ’s tax sale, others a quartet offered by a local real estate company.
