Miss Kansas, Miss Kansas Teen 2025 week begins with Bingo at Pratt Elks Lodge

The 2025 Miss Kansas and Miss Kansas Teen competitions will take place in Pratt, Kansas the first week of June, with a Kick Off to the Crown event starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, at the Pratt Elks Lodge, 1103 W. 5th Street. Tickets may be purchased at www.misskansas.org for this night of Bingo fun with the candidates, as well as for the preliminary and finals nights of competition at Pratt Community College.

Greensburg pool open with new manager

The Greensburg City Council met May 20, 2025 at City Hall in a rescheduled meeting as lack of electrical power necessitated a move from their May 19 regular plan. The tornadic storm that brushed the east side of the city on Sunday, May 18 caused widespread power outages across the county but left no damage to city property, according to a report by City Manager Stacey Barnes.

Ms. Wheelchair Kansas selects new titleholders

The 2025 Ms. Wheelchair Kansas (MWKS) was recently crowned during a weekend ceremony held March 16, 2025, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Lawrence, Kan. Autumn Bertels of Lawrence received her crown after participating in four judging sessions, as well as many other activities, throughout the three-day event held March 14-16. The weekend concluded with a formal crowning, where Autumn was chosen as the new titleholder and fellow contestants Magda Carlos-Trevino of Olathe and Jessica Soderlund of Beloit were recognized for their accomplishments. New Junior Miss and Little Miss titleholders were also announced at the ceremony. Isabel Einwich of Bel Aire will serve as Junior Miss Wheelchair Kansas 2025 and Mia Gaumer of St. Mary’s will serve as Little Miss Wheelchair Kansas 2025.
