Tiger Scholars Bowl Team takes first

On Tuesday, November 8, USD 350 Scholars Bowl Team participated in a Tournament hosted by Otis-Bison. St. John placed first in a three-way tie with Ellinwood, LaCrosse, and St. John. Although few in numbers, the Varsity Scholars Bowl Team Won first place by a margin - higher differential (wins and losses, cyclical head-to-head, down to point differential).

WGU commemorates Veterans Day with new scholarship for veterans, active-duty military service members and their families

has launched a new scholarship for active-duty military personnel, veterans and their spouses who are interested in furthering their education. The “Military Appreciation Scholarship” valued at up to $2,500 each, is open to new students who plan on enrolling in any of the online, nonprofit university’s 60+ undergraduate and graduate degree programs in IT, business, K-12 teacher education, and health professions, including nursing.

ILS hosts Farm Immersion Day for area high school students

GREAT BEND, KAN. – Innovative Livestock Services (ILS) opened its doors to more than 20 students from Great Bend, Larned, Macksville and Ellinwood high schools for a hands-on, immersion experience with the ILS Farm Partnership. Students were exposed to farm operations, equipment management, water management, and more during the immersion experienced designed to introduce high school students to career opportunities in production agriculture.
