Foundation The South Central Community Foundation (SCCF) awarded last week $54,714 in community, children’s health, teacher’s, and Pratt County Achievement Place Youth Development grants to Pratt County organizations this fall. The newly established Marjorie Gillig Grant was also awarded.
As holidays come and go, one of the most exciting things for me is to see all the wreaths change on my front door. My mother loves a decorated house, and to her, a wreath on the front door is like the perfect finishing touch. Although I never tell my mom, I’m so appreciative of her for taking the time to decorate our home because it looks beautiful. As a result, I, too, have an extreme passion for decorating.

Through the generosity of its customers, employees and franchisees during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Scooter’s Coffee is proud to support lifesaving breast cancer research through a $203,060.44 check donation, presented to The Pink Agenda Nov. 16 in New York City.
Pratt County farmers received about an inch of moisture from recent weather events, a quarter inch which came shortly after most had put their wheat in the ground. Add in the winter snow dusting of last week and some are hopeful that the moisture will have a positive affect on the coming wheat crop. But local farmer Brandon Riffey and Pratt County Research and Extension Agent Rhett Newby aren’t ready to say it is enough.
November 11 was our Thanksgiving dinner at the senior center. Big shout out to all the hands it takes to make this happen!!! We have the best crew around, and the best food too!!!! A special quilt display was enjoyed last week by seniors at the Greensburg center.
Phye wins fall display and photo contest Pratt is a beautiful place to live, as evidenced by this year’s Pratt Tribune Show Us Your Colors community photo contest. Weekly print and online readers were invited to submit photos of their outdoor fall yard displays, as well as those of their neighbors.
Pratt area veterans were honored in a variety of ways on November 11, 2022. From elementary school presentations to a special dinner at the Elks Lodge BPOE #1451, there was no doubt veterans hold a special place in the hearts of many in Pratt.
