Thanksgiving meal brings joy to local volunteers

How many pounds of potatoes does it take to fill 540 meal orders for a Pratt Community Thanksgiving? First-time volunteer Randy Stone knows the answer - 200 lbs. The Center starts jail program with help of state grant

The gap that has existed between people who are incarcerated and mental- health services is starting to close in central Kansas. The Center for Counseling & Consultation, 5815 Broadway, Great Bend, applied for and received a state grant that is funding the new Jail Program in the non-profit agency’s four-county service area – Barton, Pawnee, Rice and Stafford.

Deadline Approaching in Kansas for SBA Working Capital Loans Due to Drought

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Director Tanya N. Garfield of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West today reminded small nonfarm businesses in 36 Kansas counties of the Dec. 22, 2022, deadline to apply for an SBA federal disaster loan for economic injury. These low-interest loans are to offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought in the following primary counties that began March 1, 2022.
