Buzzing in for the team

On November 28, five area teams competed in the St. John-Hudson High School’s Annual Scholars Bowl Invitational Tournament: Central Plains, Ellinwood, Macksville, Pratt-Skyline, and St. John-Hudson. It was a true community event with many local volunteers and helpers.

Walking into Turquoise & Tines is like walking into someone’s home; a home that allows you to feel comfortable, and with people who genuinely greet you, making gift shopping easier. There’s no other place that I would like to shop to get my friends’ gifts.

South Central Community Foundation awards grant to Smoky Hills PBS

The South Central Community Foundation (SCCF) has awarded Smoky Hills PBS with a grant of $1,900 to support the station’s Literacy Leadership Program. The Literacy Leadership Program is an effort from Smoky Hills PBS to engage and inspire children to be ready and eager to learn. One component of this program is the First Book Club, in which Smoky Hills PBS gives free books to children enrolled in preschool or head start programs.

The holidays wouldn’t be complete without your Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) annual countdown of the season’s top 12 scams. This week we continue outlining three more Grinchy schemes that steal from consumers who are caught up in the hustle and bustle of holiday activities.
