The Pratt High School Boys’ Golf team has gotten off to a hot start to begin the 2025 campaign. Recently, the team was able to capture their annual home tournament title, which was one of Head Coach Tim Rector’s top goals for the season.

The Pratt City Commission heard a proposal from local teen Luke Nystrom at their April 7 regular meeting to add a half-pipe to the skate park on main street.
Kyra Kissinger of Phoenix Massage in Pratt is not one to sit still long. She likes to be moving, growing, learning, healing, and all of those are reasons why she has decided to bring a kids’ ironman triathalon event and adult sprint competition to Pratt, planned for June 22. The Gary and Jean Cromer Public Pool will be the staging ground for all parts of the event, swimming, running, and bicycling, with staggered start times for different age groups.
St. John-Hudson High School track and field coaches Trish Wade and Danny Smith (assistant) took their teams out for two competitions last week, Pre-State at Cessna Stadium in Wichita and a league meet at Lyons High School. Results from both occasions were noteworthy.
After battling through tough doubleheaders against Hutchinson and Great Bend, the Pratt High School Baseball team has begun to roll through their competition in the Central Kansas League. The Greenbacks recently picked up sweeps against Hoisington, Haven, and Halstead to improve their record to 7-3.
Through fundraising and generous donations, Station 430 Hudson firefighters were recently able to purchase a remote-controlled nozzle for Truck 36.
Kenny Clark at Clarks Barber Shop in St. John has trimmed a lot of hair since he opened shop in 1965. Last week he cut some hair for a couple of hares, making sure they look fabulous for Easter weekend.
Combine art and birds and the result is “Birds of Clay”, a unique studio art experience taking inspiration from the shorebird migration at Quivira National Wildlife Refuge. The Art Center at the Historic Gray Photography Studio, located in St. John, is offering the class on May 3, led by Christina Lamoureaux, who has been teaching art for 38 years.
