HUTCHINSON – Time is running out to apply to participate in the Mark Cuban Foundation Artificial Intelligence (AI) Bootcamp hosted by Cosmosphere International Science Education Center and Space Museum in Hutchinson. Applications for the no-cost bootcamp are closing March 12.
The Pratt High School girls’ basketball team has been progressing through the end of the regular season, and they have been fighting to maximize their seed for sub-state. Recently, they had CKL matchups against Hesston, Haven, and Smoky Valley that showed them what improvements they need to make before the postseason begins.
I was asked to participate in Career Day at Stafford High School. I only had a few weeks to prepare for it. There were about eight speakers sharing their professions with students, including law enforcement, emergency services, and various farm programs. The students had to choose the session that caught their interest.
God wants us to make the first move. Initiating anything can be intimidating at times. We are very comfortable to wait and do good to those that do good to us but it can be a vulnerable or scary place to make the first move. By being the first to reach out we might be rejected or worse yet ridiculed, but to only react or reciprocate what others do to or for us is not what God wants us to do. According to prattrecords.com, the Hot and Cold water towers have gained national attention since being painted in 1956. The smaller tower was built in 1901, the larger tower was added in 1909. In the past year, an effort to revitalize the neglected area has surfaced, and citizen Tammy Coleman has taken on the responsibility of making sure the project gets completed.
Eight outstanding students from the Pratt Academic Center (PAC) and Southwest Elementary (SW) showcased their scientific talents at the ISEF Regional Science Fair held at Exploration Place in Wichita. Competing in two divisions, these young scholars impressed judges and spectators alike with their innovative projects and dedication.
