One From the Road: Intentionally blocking traffic is not a good idea

Blake Winsor of Pratt High School accepted an invitation to compete with the Kansas Shrine Duals and will wrestle at 157 lbs. on Saturday, March 29 in the 2nd Annual KWCA event. The wrestling matchups for all weight divisions and sizes of schools takes place at Fugate Gymnasium, Kansas Newman University, Wichita, Kansas.

Bixler’s art based on faith and finding solace
Dick Bixler of Pratt creates art from metal that means something to him. A recent piece, Jesus Stills the Storm, has been selected to be displayed as part of a “Miracles” exhibit at Christ Cathedral, downtown Salina, through April 18. His metal welded sculpture is part of an annual pre-Easter art exhibit that featured 14 regional artists this year, included fellow Prattan Amy Clarkson.

One From the Road: There’s no Happy Meals at the center of the United States
A few Saturdays ago, I had to attend a company safety meeting in Sabetha, KS. My wife and oldest granddaughter, Aspen, went with me. Normally, after the meeting is over, we go to the Cracker Barrel in Junction City and then go shopping in Salina.
