Kansas cattlemen visit Mexican ranches in trade mission trip

MANHATTAN, Kansas — The Kansas Department of Agriculture partnered with the U.S. Livestock Genetics Export, Inc. (USLGE) along with the Idaho, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Tennessee departments of agriculture to participate in a trade mission to Mexico on October 25-28, 2022. Participants of the trade mission were Kansas cattlemen Dirck Hoagland of J&N Ranch, Leavenworth, and Daniel Mushrush of Mushrush Red Angus, Strong City. The focus of the mission was to build relationships and expand international marketing opportunities for purebred beef cattle genetics in Mexico.

Everett honored for irrigation sales

T-L Irrigation Company, leading manufacturer of hydrostatically powered pivot irrigation systems, has awarded local Preston resident, Jaron Everett, their “Top Performer” sales award for 2022. Jaron is T-L’s District Sales Manager for their central region, which includes Kansas, southern Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Southern California.

Kansas dairy industry gets boost from extension, research at K-State

Hilmar’s facility, which is expected to be operational in 2024, will create 247 new jobs.

Each gift box contains an assortment of products grown, raised or produced in Kansas, with two size options available: the Konza Box and the Ad Astra Box. From the Land of Kansas gift boxes allow for ease of purchase for family, friends or clients and add a personal, customized note for the holiday season.

USDA to aid farmers with $500M in payout assistance

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced that distressed borrowers with qualifying USDA farm loans have already received nearly $800 million in assistance, as part of the $3.1 billion in assistance for distressed farm loan borrowers provided through Section 22006 of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The IRA directed USDA to expedite assistance to distressed borrowers of direct or guaranteed loans administered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) whose operations face financial risk.
