Perhaps it has been one of Pratt’s best kept secrets that the Baymont by Wyndham (704 Allison Lane) General Manager Megan Nixon was the hotel chains General Manager of the Year in 2023, but those who attended a Pratt Area Chamber Coffee Chat meeting last Thursday at the establishment learned that award is not the only high honor for the Pratt hotel.
This Pratt facility was named Hotel of the Year in 2023 by Wyndham, and that was out of more than 500 hotels nationally, and internationally owned by the company,” Nixon said. “The award is based on guest reviews. We are currently in second place for 2024 but I am confident that we will close out in first by the time the evaluations are done.
Nixon said she has a great local staff helping her reach the pinnacle of customer service at the Pratt location which features 67 suite rooms, free breakfast, an exercise room, pool, a hot tub, laundry, and meeting space.
Baymont’s signature “hometown hospitality” offers guest-centric comforts like friendly service with a smile, fresh chocolate chip cookies at check-in, and free breakfast.
“We welcome people in the community to come in and enjoy our pool, hot tub, and fitness room for just $6 per day, or $50 per month,” Nixon said. “It’s great for those needing pool therapy or just someone who wants to rent the area for a birthday or anniversary party.”
Fitness equipment and pool hours are posted as 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Nixon said the establishment recently finished entire room remodels, replacing mattress, desks, and sleeper sofas.
“We could not have done all of that without some tremendous help from Pratt Community College students who came in and helped take apart the sofas and haul them out. Those were really heavy,” Nixon said.
As part of the recent Chamber Coffee Chat, Nixon offered tours of the facility which included room preview and a visit to the pool, hot tub, exercise rooms and meeting spaces.
“We are so happy to have a reputable and awesome establishment here in Pratt,” said Chamber Director Ashley Smith. “Megan has just done a tremendous job here and she gets great reviews from people who come in to stay for sports events, concerts, hunting season, etc. Pratt is very lucky to have her here.”
Nixon said the hotel reservations fluctuate with the seasons but are very busy during summer sports tournaments, hunting seasons, and with travel workers from the hospital, wind energy, and oil industries. Local residents are always encouraged to stop by for a staycation or to use the hotel amenities.
