Population doubles in Hudson for Christmas event

THE TINY TOWN OF HUDSON came alive and more than doubled in size during their biennial event, the Hudson Old Fashioned Christmas. The town of around 100 people welcomed over 150 more, with more than 250 people total in attendance.

Get ready to eat your fill of pancakes next week

THE ST. PAUL LUTHERAN Laymen’s League of rural Preston recently met to make plans for the 64th Annual Pancake and Sausage Supper to be held on January 15, 2022 from 4:30-7 p.m. Over the years the menu has grown to include: pancakes, waffles, whole hog sausage, eggs, French toast, coffee, tea, milk, and orange juice. According to LLL President Warren Briggeman, “the LLL decided in addition to our regular sausage choice from T & W Meat of Preston, we will also serve a limited number of their sausage links. Comments from attendees may influence the menu of future suppers.”

SOLAR FARMS currently under construction northwest of Pratt and southwest of Greensburg are part of a larger project that involves twelve Kansas electric cooperatives, including Ninnescah Rural Electric Cooperative (NREC).

Difficult start behind them as Lady Bears rebuild in 2022

Following five loses, some by double figures, the 73-58 win over Southwestern Adventist Unversity was especially sweet.

Wrapping up Christmas

Angel Tree gifts dispersed A special group of volunteers helped wrap up Christmas for 98 families last week in Pratt. The Angel Tree project, sponsored by RSVP which is a group of volunteers who give their time, talent, wisdom and experience in helping their community, has now completed a 30th year of service in Pratt.
