Recently, the Kansas house voted on HCR 5027, Applying to the Congress of the United States to call a convention of the states. I voted for the resolution, but it failed 76-43, because a 2/3rds vote was required to pass it.
I read an article recently about a poll taken by The Docking Institute of Kansas residents and it stirred this response by me. I hope fellow Kansans take note of what is coming.
It appears that the US Supreme Court may overturn Roe V Wade. When that happens, each state will be able to make the decision on whether or not they will allow abortion. Kansas has already been identified as one of the “go to” states by Texas women seeking abortion when Texas puts a stop to abortions. Does Kansas really want to be known as “the” place to get an abortion. It is time to start preparing for the fight that is coming to Kansas.
