Recruitment in place for Youth Making a Difference Council

South Central Community Foundation (SCCF) is currently recruiting for its Youth Making a Difference Council (YMAD) from the seven counties they serve. Starting in 2003, SCCF received a grant from the Ewing Outstanding Youth In Philanthropy Marion Kaufman Foundation to develop a philanthropy program for teens.

Community club installs new leaders

Pilot International of Pratt, Kansas is a non-profit service organization that meets twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month with a mission to influence positive change in communities. Earlier this month the club met to elect and initiate new leaders, honoring new co-presidents Linda Broce and Tammy Killough. Gin Pelzl comes aboard as vice president and Jeanne Peters takes over as secretary. Johanna Roberts continues to serve the organization as treasurer. Four directors for the new Pilot year include Laurie Stroda, Shelley Patton, Nancy Boland, and Belinda Ward Gimpel.

Activities back on track at Sunflower Diversified Services

After almost two years of changing schedules and curtailing activities, clients and staff at Sunflower Diversified Services are back to a regular routine and enjoying a few new ventures. Covid had brought a number of out-of-the-ordinary challenges to Sunflower, which serves people with developmental disabilities and delays in central Kansas.

Annual news journey includes July 18 stop in Pratt at N’Cahoots

WICHITA, Kansas (KSNW) -- KSN-TV is going on their annual summer road trip, where they will be visiting communities across Kansas highlighting the great things going on across the Sunflower State. July 17-21, 2022, KSN team members will make stops in more than 20 towns throughout Kansas, traveling more than 1,000 miles to greet Kansans in each community and share stories along the way.

KBI NEWS: KBI arrests deputy in Kiowa County

Last Friday, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) arrested Deputy Ryan Davis in Greensburg, Kansas. On Friday, July 8, at approximately 1:45 p.m., KBI agents arrested Davis, 36, of Grand Island, Nebraska.
