Geesling asks city to consider making Pratt a no-whistle zone

Pratt resident told Pratt City Commissioners at their September 19 meeting that she and her neighbors would like Pratt to be declared a no-whistle zone. The request would require that the city pass an ordinance prohibiting the trains of the Union Pacific railroad from blowing their horns within Pratt city limits.

Western Day a wild success for locals

Live country music, mellow Native American flute tones and the occasional whistle of the Pilot Express Train set the mood for a fun, relaxing Western Day celebration at Pratt’s Sixth Street Park on Saturday. An annual event sponsored by the Pratt Pilot Club International, Western Day was an opportunity for families with children to get outdoors and enjoy activities like corn hole, horseshoe tossing, balloon darts, roping, drumming, dancing, and of course, free play on the near-by inclusive play equipment.
