Presents in a Package back in full-force, after canceling one year and scaling back another during the pandemic. An estimated 450,000 men and women serve overseas, sadly more than 50 percent never get a care package. Volunteer Kansas and NCRI – National Catastrophe Restoration, Inc. would like your help in changing that by inviting you to participate in their upcoming Presents in a Package Event.

Hamilton is sure to please

Hamilton, a 3 1/2-yearold Shih Tzu dog, is now available for adoption at the Pratt Area Humane Society. His foster family has shared that this dog is a doll, almost housebroke, loves stuffed toys and stealing chews out of foster brothers kennel and trying to hide them. He is completely vetted and ready for his new home.

Kansas Farm Bureau donates $5 million for K-State’s new agriculture buildings project

MANHATTAN — Kansas Farm Bureau has pledged the largest donation in the organization’s history: $5 million over five years to support the Kansas State University College of Agriculture’s innovation centers for grain, food, animal and agronomy research. The two new innovation centers will focus on the development and diversification of Kansas and the world’s food and agricultural economy.

Young man loses life in motorcycle vs. deer accident near St. John

An accident involving a motorcycle driver and a deer took the life of 25-year-old Larry Ryan, of Pratt, on September 25, and the Pratt community has responded with support for his family and friends. According to Kansas Highway Patrol crash log information, Ryan was driving his 2012 Honda motorcycle at about 7:30 p.m.

Business as usual for commissioners

The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met in regular session on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in the Commission Room in the Annex. Chairman Wycoff called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present: Todd Wycoff, Bryce Garner, and Clayton Grimmett.
