Winners have been announced for the 11th annual Ranchland Trust of Kansas (RTK) photography contest. Photographers of all ages submitted photos that showcase the mission of RTK, “To preserve Kansas’ ranching heritage and open spaces for future generations through the conservation of working landscapes.”
We can’t let this be how it ends. Kansas farmers have always endured - it is often one of the first things written in the story of who we are.
2022 will mark the 31st anniversary of Worcester Wreath Company donating Maine wreaths to adorn the headstones of our Nation’s veterans at Arlington National Cemetery. In addition to wreaths destined for Virginia, Worcester Wreath will again donate 8 ceremonial wreaths to over 3,100 locations across the Country.
A former Miss Dodge City Paige Harding was recently recognized as a Next-Gen Under 30 recipient for her work with Alzheimer’s disease and her non-profit caregiver relief program called Purple Pals. The Washburn University student is in her second year in law school.
HAYS, Kan. – Simply put, I created this column so that I could write stories about remarkable people like the reigning Miss Kansas, Ayanna Hensley. Life for Ayanna was a challenge from the start. She grew up in Dodge City, the child of two parents whose substance abuse issues led to related criminal activity. Storing Pumpkins Whether you grow your own or purchase pumpkins, there are some tricks to make them last. Make sure the pumpkin wasn’t harvested too early; before the rind developed a hard, waxy layer to keep it from drying out and shriveling.
