God is truth and the greatest comforter; why deny someone in recovery this encouragement

Dear Editor: In response to the article in the Wednesday, October 12, 2022, Tribune article on page A3, regarding leaving Christ-centered part out of Cody’s House, I would like to make the following comments. It is apparent the author has not considered the source of the air she breaths or the complexity of her eyes which she uses every waking minute of her day and night, or many other complexities around us.

My memories of New York City

One of the greatest benefits of driving a truck is that you get to see some unbelievable sights. New York City is one of the places that I could have spent my time lost, which I was and loved every minute of it.

Making reading a good habit

One of my favorite pastel portraits, done many years ago, features two children who now have children of their own, reading. When I do children’s portraits, I like to ask them to select a favorite toy, or in this case, a favorite book.

God speaks to us so we can share the blessing

Those of us who believe God created man tend to also believe that God also wants to communicate with us. It is sad that those who created their own god have a god who is deaf and dumb. They can not answer prayers or comfort or lead. What a sorry excuse for a god. But for us who follow a God who is personal, it is a true joy to experience a relationship with our very Creator.
