Historical celebration entertains and enlightens participants
The St. John Homecoming Hall and Museum sponsored a Homecoming Festival in the Town Square in St. John on October 22 to honor and celebrate the culture and history of Stafford County. The museum’s intent to preserve the artifacts and stories of all families who have lived in this county came to fruition as many local people as well as visitors from afar came to the Saturday celebration.
Pratt High School volleyball finishes as Sub-State runner up; Gatlin achieves major milestone
On Saturday, October 22, the Pratt High School volleyball team traveled to Circle High School where they competed against two excellent teams in sub-state action. In 4A, Sub-State is split into East and West divisions, with each division having 18 teams.
Grant to fund artist program and mural creation
South Central Community Foundation has selected he 5.4.7 Arts Center in Greensburg to receive two 2022-2023 grants. The Arts Center received a Community Grant to facilitate establishment of an Artists in Residence program, and a Greensburg Future Fund Grant for the creation of an outdoor mural on the concrete plinth surrounding the Arts Center.
Election profiles shed light on those running for local office seats
Familiar faces will be on the ballot with four candidates vying for two open seats on the Pratt City Commission in the November 8 election. A Pratt resident new to the community will be on the ballot for State Representative in a newly aligned 116th District which includes 60 percent of Pratt County.
Macksville band earns top ratings
The Macksville High School marching band competed in the Fort Hays State University Marching Festival on Monday, October 24. Their high noon performance was rewarded with top ratings.

I was getting a load of Kubota that was heading to Oklahoma. My dispatcher told me that after I was loaded, for me to head to the Kansas City dealership. They had parts for my truck. What? I thought my truck had all its parts since I had the bunk heater installed.
