Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College softball team hosted the Seward County Community College Saints for their home opener on Saturday, March 1. The Beavers split the double header 1-1 to pick up their first conference win of the season.
Tax season, which begins in January and ends in April with the tax-filing deadline (tax day falls on Wednesday, April 15 in 2025), can be a stressful time for people in the United States. The Skyline High School girls’ basketball Team finished the season with a couple of sub-state games on the road. On Monday (February 24), they traveled to Pretty Prairie to compete in the first round against the hometown Bulldogs. Skyline was seeded in the 11 position in the tournament, with Pretty Prairie ranked at number 6. That was not the only factor working against the Thunderbirds. In previous match-ups between Pretty Prairie and Skyline, the Thunderbirds came out on the losing end. Also adding to the drama of the quarterfinal game was the obvious advantage that came with the Bulldogs playing on their homecourt. Coming off a four-game losing streak, it was time for the Birds to put up or go home. Skyline did just that. They stepped up their game, tightened their defense and hung with Pretty Prairie until late in the game.
I was so mad. I felt ignored, sabotaged, disregarded and disrespected. A special project that I had been working on for the company that employs me suddenly spiraled out of control and there was nothing I could do about it. In words, it doesn’t sound like something to get upset about, but I was.
The Pratt Community College Esports team is adding a Rocket League team to the program’s list of games. The team currently has two Overwatch 2 teams, Valorant and Fortnite teams. This will be the first time since 2022 that the program has fielded an entire 3v3 Rocket League team.
The Pratt High School archery team hosted the Pratt State Qualifying Tournament (Bullseye) and the Pratt 3D Tournament on Saturday, March 1 at The Blythe Fitness Center. Fifteen schools from around the state participated in the National Archery in the Schools (NASP) tournament.
