It is said that Aesop lived 600 years before Christ, a dangerous time during which survival could be brutal. It is interesting, however, how relevant his fables can be to modern situations. Aesop used animals and humans as subjects.

Pratt Education Center and Museum hosts animal tracks activity

According to KDWP museum director Mackenzie Reh at the Pratt Education Center and Museum, some wild animal friends snuck into the museum after hours and left their tracks all over the place. She has invited kids and parents looking for spring break fun to come to the museum at 531 SE 25th Ave, Pratt, Kansas to help her identify the culprits.

Lady Beavers conclude basketball season at Liberal

Pratt, Kan. - The Pratt Community College women’s basketball team traveled to Liberal, Kan. on Saturday, March 8 for the opening round of the NJCAA Region Six Women’s Basketball Tournament against the Seward County Community College. The Beavers unfortunately lost the game 81-49 to end their season 8-23 overall and 3-21 in conference play.

Rural impact applications sought by The Heartland Project

Charitable giving that makes a local impact, particularly for rural communities served by The Peoples Bank, is the impetus behind The Heartland Project that began late 2024 and runs through 2025. The Peoples Heartland Foundation, established by The Peoples Bank which has offices in Pratt, Smith, Osborne, Kiowa, Kingman and Barber counties, initiated The Heartland Project which will award $50,000 to approved plans in each county for a total of $300,000, all for the asking this year.
